There’s something in the air—and it feels like a consuming fire from Georgia.
A cryptic countdown timer has appeared on ThirdDay.com, and fans are buzzing with one burning question: Is this the start of a Third Day reunion?
The clock is ticking down to next Wednesday, and while no official statement has been released, the timing—and the silence—is just loud enough to suggest something big is brewing. Could it be a full-blown reunion tour? A new studio album? Or are we in for something more symbolic, like a tribute livestream or legacy box set?
Here’s what we know: Mac Powell, the unmistakable voice of Third Day, recently graced the stage of the 2025 K-LOVE Fan Awards, where he led the crowd in “God of Wonders” with original co-writer Steve Hindalong (The Choir) and made famous through Third Day’s Offerings II: All I Have To Give.
However… there is another anniversary on the horizon. The original Offerings record, released in July of 2000, helped shift the entire sound of Christian radio. Offerings paved the way for an era where vertical worship replaced much of the genre’s prior pop-rock foundations.
Next month marks 25 years since Offerings hit shelves, making a deluxe anniversary release not only plausible, but likely. Still, longtime fans are hoping this is more than just a retrospective.
If it is a reunion, the big question remains: Who’s in?
Mac Powell and guitarist Mark Lee are the most likely names on any lineup. The duo were the consistent backbone of the band throughout its two-decade run. But could we also see the return of drummer David Carr? Or is a fresh lineup in the works like we saw with Tenth Avenue North?
Third Day officially called it quits in 2018 with a farewell tour that didn’t quite feel like the final chapter. In that spirit, a Third Day resurrection feels more like a “when,” not an “if.”
Whether it’s a one-off anniversary event or the rebirth of a band that helped define a generation, one thing is certain: we will be watching closely when that timer hits zero.
Of course… it could just be a cruise. But hey, would you really complain about “Boat of Wonders: Offerings on the Ocean” ?
